Job Description: Nottingham Forest Football Club is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our scouting team as an Academy Local Scout. As an Academy Local Scout, you will play a crucial role in identifying and recruiting talented young players within the local area to join our academy program. Your responsibilities will include:

• Attending local youth football matches, tournaments, and events to identify potential academy prospects.
• Evaluating the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes of young players to assess their suitability for Nottingham Forest’s academy.
• Building and maintaining relationships with local grassroots clubs, coaches, and players to establish a network of talent sources.
• Providing detailed scouting reports and recommendations to the academy coaching staff and recruitment department.
• Collaborating with other members of the scouting team to ensure comprehensive coverage of the local talent pool.
• Keeping abreast of developments in youth football and scouting trends to stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of youth football and grassroots football networks in the Nottingham area.
• Previous experience in talent identification or scouting, preferably within football or sports.
• Strong observational and analytical skills, with the ability to assess player potential accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with players, coaches, and parents.
• A passion for youth development and a commitment to nurturing young talent.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to attend matches and events.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel to various scouting locations.
