Overview:

BBC Look North is seeking an experienced Senior Presenter to lead our flagship regional news program in the North East and Cumbria. This role requires a charismatic and informed presenter who can engage our diverse audience and deliver news with authority and empathy.

Responsibilities:

• Anchor daily news broadcasts, providing clear and engaging news coverage.
• Work closely with producers, reporters, and technical staff to develop compelling news segments.
• Represent BBC Look North at public and community events, enhancing our presence and engagement with the local community.
• Contribute to editorial meetings, offering insights and ideas that drive content development.
• Maintain the highest journalistic standards, ensuring all content complies with BBC guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in broadcast journalism, with a proven track record as a news presenter.
• Deep knowledge of the political, cultural, and social issues affecting the North East and Cumbria.
• Strong on-air presence and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to handle live broadcasts under pressure and respond effectively to breaking news.
• A degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
