Job Description:

Dimension Films is seeking a talented and passionate Music Composer Intern to join our team in Liverpool. The Music Composer Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced composers and music supervisors to gain valuable hands-on experience in composing music for film projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in composing original music cues and themes for film projects under the guidance of senior composers.
• Collaborate with the music team to develop creative concepts and ideas for enhancing the emotional impact of scenes through music.
• Provide support in conducting research on music trends, styles, and genres relevant to specific film genres and themes.
• Assist in the preparation of music cues and scores for recording sessions, including notation and sheet music preparation.
• Participate in music spotting sessions and contribute ideas for integrating music seamlessly into film scenes.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the music library, including cataloging, archiving, and digitizing music assets.
• Provide general administrative support to the music department, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining project documentation.

Requirements:

• Passion for music composition and film scoring, with a strong desire to pursue a career in the film industry.
• Proficiency in music composition software such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or Cubase, as well as music notation software like Sibelius or Finale.
• Strong musical skills, including proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument and understanding of music theory and composition principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a music composition, film scoring, or related degree program preferred.
