We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join our team at the Milton Keynes Workshop.

Job Description: As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles to the highest standards. This role is based at our Milton Keynes Workshop, where you will work as part of a dedicated team of technicians to keep our vehicles safe, roadworthy, and operating at peak performance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing and inspections of Royal Mail vehicles, including vans, trucks, and other specialist vehicles.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on vehicle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct MOT preparations and assist with vehicle testing as required.
  • Carry out vehicle diagnostics using the latest diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Complete accurate service and repair records, maintaining comprehensive vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe working practices at all times.
  • Assist with vehicle breakdowns and recovery operations, providing roadside assistance and repairs when needed.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to minimise vehicle downtime and maximise fleet availability.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, ensuring tools and equipment are kept in good condition and properly stored.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Vehicle Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Previous experience working as a vehicle technician or mechanic, ideally within a commercial vehicle workshop environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex vehicle faults.
  • Excellent mechanical and technical skills, with a good understanding of vehicle systems and components.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and adhering to quality and safety standards.
