Job Description:

Amazon is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Warehouse Operatives at our Wakefield Fulfillment Center. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be an integral part of the Amazon operations team, responsible for helping to deliver millions of products to customers across the UK. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Picking and Packing: Efficiently pick customer orders from inventory and pack them for shipment.
  • Sorting: Organize and sort packages based on their destination and type for dispatch.
  • Receiving and Stowing: Unload and accurately stow incoming inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
  • Scanning: Use handheld scanners to track and manage inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect items for damage and ensure they meet Amazon’s quality standards before shipping.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks (training provided).
  • Health and Safety: Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve daily and weekly productivity goals.

Requirements:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift items (up to 23 kg) for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in all tasks, particularly in order picking and packing.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • No Experience Required: Full training is provided. A positive attitude and a desire to learn are the most important qualifications.
