Overview:

BBC Coventry & Warwickshire is looking for a dedicated Journalist to join our team remotely. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Coventry and the surrounding areas, who can deliver compelling news stories and features that resonate with our local audience, all from a remote setting.

Responsibilities:

• Pitch, research, and write news articles and features that reflect the interests and issues of the Coventry community.
• Work closely with the editorial team to develop multimedia content that can be shared across various platforms.
• Engage with the community through virtual interviews, social media interaction, and participation in community events.
• Maintain high journalistic standards of accuracy, impartiality, and fairness.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in journalism, with a portfolio that includes digital content.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce clean, concise, and engaging copy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently from a remote location.
• Deep knowledge of Coventry’s cultural, social, and political landscape.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
