Overview:

BBC Radio Humberside and Radio Lincolnshire are looking for an experienced Executive Editor to lead our dynamic teams. This role is pivotal in shaping the editorial direction and strategic vision of both stations. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas, strong leadership skills, and a passion for community-focused broadcasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and content production of both radio stations, ensuring content is engaging, relevant, and upholds BBC standards.
  • Lead and inspire teams of journalists, producers, and technical staff to achieve excellence in local broadcasting.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase listenership and community engagement.
  • Maintain a strong network of contacts and partnerships within Humberside and Lincolnshire.
  • Ensure compliance with all BBC editorial guidelines and legal standards.
  • Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in radio or a similar media environment, with at least five years in a senior editorial role.
  • Strong editorial judgment and a deep understanding of the issues affecting the Humberside and Lincolnshire regions.
  • Excellent communication and team management skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, with a track record of growing audience engagement.
  • A degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is highly desirable.
